A solar pv services ensures the long-term performance, efficiency, and safety of the photovoltaic (PV) installation.

This service outlines routine maintenance, fault detection, and necessary repairs required to keep the system functioning optimally.

Think of our service as a health check for your solar system. We focus on preventing small issues from turning into costly problems, ensuring your panels generate the power you expect.

Here’s what’s covered:

  • Visual Inspection of the Inverter & Panels

One of the primary checks on a system service call out, is a visual inspection of the inverter and panels, provided there is safe access. This involves:

Checking for any indications of faults or damage to the inverter or panels.

Inspecting for burn marks, corrosion, or any unusual signs of malfunction.

Assessing display indicators and error messages to determine the system status.

    Inverter Secure Mounting and Ventilation

The inverter is a critical component of the PV system, requiring proper mounting and ventilation to operate efficiently. The contract covers:

Checking if the inverter is securely mounted and free from movement.

Ensuring ventilation is unobstructed, with operational fans and heat sinks.

Verifying that externally mounted inverters show no signs of water ingress.

Inverter Fault Logs and Overvoltage Risk Assessment

To diagnose potential issues, the service team will:

Review inverter fault logs to detect historical errors or failures.

Measure AC voltage at the inverter and assess for over-voltage risks, which can cause system inefficiency or damage.

  • Ensuring the structural integrity of the mounting system is a crucial part of maintenance. Checks include:

Confirming module clamps are secure (random sample torque check, subject to access and safety).

Inspecting mounting rails for stability and distortion (including fixing brackets).

String Series and Insulation Resistance Testing

Performance tests ensure electrical efficiency and system integrity:

String series resistance test to detect electrical resistance anomalies.

String insulation resistance test (RISO) to prevent insulation failures and potential hazards

  • AC and DC isolators are essential components for system safety and function. Routine checks involve:

Conducting a functional test to ensure proper operation.

Inspecting for physical damage or signs of wear.

Checking for ingress protection to ensure components are free from water, dust, or debris that may affect performance.

    DC Junction Boxes (Where Present)

Where DC junction boxes are installed, the following maintenance is carried out:

Checking for signs of damage or loose connections.

Ensuring seals and enclosures prevent water or dust ingress.

Confirming that all wiring is secure and correctly routed.

    DC Connectors Inspection

DC connectors ensure the safe transmission of power within the system.

    Maintenance checks include:

Confirming connectors are secure and free from damage.

Ensuring connectors are supported away from pooling water to prevent short circuits or corrosion.

    DC Circuit Testing

Testing the direct current (DC) circuits ensures the system is electrically sound. This involves:

Open-circuit voltage (Vsc) test to verify proper power output.

Short-circuit current (Isc) test to measure system capacity.

Earth leakage test to check for potential grounding issues.

    Cable Support and Damage Inspection

The contract includes a thorough inspection of cables, ensuring:

Cables are adequately supported and not sagging or stressed.

No visible signs of damage, wear, or rodent interference.

Minor Works AC Test from Isolation Point to Inverter

To ensure proper AC circuit operation, the contract includes:

Testing AC wiring from the isolation point to the inverter for continuity and efficiency.

Checking for any faults or loose connections that may impact system performance.

  • Proper labelling ensures safe operation and compliance with regulations. The system service covers:

Verifying that all labels and system signage are present and correct.

Checking if the system schematic is up-to-date and accurately displayed.

  • To enhance system safety, the contract ensures:

The emergency shutdown procedure is clearly visible.

Operators and maintenance personnel can quickly locate the shutdown instructions in case of an emergency.

  • Tracking the system’s energy generation is crucial for identifying performance issues. The system service includes:

Checking recorded generation data to ensure it is increasing over time (seasonally adjusted).

Comparing the actual generation output with the original performance estimation.

Investigating deviations from expected performance levels.

  • Clean solar panels maximise energy absorption.

    Maintenance includes:

Checking for accumulated dust, bird droppings, or debris that may reduce efficiency.

Recommending a professional PV module cleaning service where necessary.

    Additional Cleaning Service:

We have a dedicated Solar PV Clean service may be offered upon request, particularly for systems in shallow pitch or dusty environments.

WHy CHOOSE OUR SYSTEM SERVICE AGREEMENT?

*(SOLAR SYSTEM HEALTH CHECK SERVICE)

  • All Services Include, though check by professional electrician. They will send a report to head office with any official repair that need repairing. We send an PDF of your previous year performance, and any recommendations on how to improve or upgrade your system.

  • depending on your size of system, pick a service, once you have procesed payment you will receive an email cofirming payment and you will then receive a phone call to organise a visit by a electrician.

  • The electrician on the service will report to us about the repairs, we can advise you and price the cost of repairs. Its then up to you as a client if you wish for us to schedule one of our own engineers to repair the system or if you wish you find a third party to carry them out.

*We can advise you on whether the repairs can covered under your warranties.

  • Depending on location, some systems will be recommended on whether or not then need cleaning. Some systems can still perform well for another year without a cleaning service, some systems may have never been cleaned, some sites can be effected more than others. Or engineers can recommend whether is needed.
