what are battery systems? 

  • A Solar system that runs like the previous. However , usually customers have extra panels installed to produce excess energy to charge up batteries (energy storage) that discharge during the non sunlight hours (the battery energy is used during low light hours or night. This system again does not work independent of the grid. And unless you wish to have a inverter that functions as off grid mode. This system will not.

  • A system that can still be connected to the grid, however during grid failures, this type of inverter can work independently and still

    supply the building with electricity. However in this situation, if there was reduced sunlight (cloudy/night) and you fully discharge the batteries. You would have no power * usually supplied by the grid to “top up the battery power”.

  • A solar system, that includes panels, off grid inverters, batteries ( and usually we recommend, a back up generator). Allowing the building to be completely self suffiencent without any help from the grid. So there won’t be any electricity bills. The only costs are occasional fuel for the generator for periods when there might be less sunlight effecting the amount of charge in the batteries and maintenance service contracts.
