the solar installation process
-
We ask to see a current energy bill as it gives us a rough understanding of how much electricity you are currently using. We can make a plan of how big of a system you need, how effective it will be, due to the orientation of the roof, and send you a design and cost of the system, which includes the price of installation, and all necessary paperwork.
-
We arrange an onsite/face to face meeting with an engineer, to check the condition of the roof, electrics/fuse box and access to the site.
-
Whilst most of the modern appliances become more and more energy efficient. Larger electrical devices may need to be considered. For example if you wish to add, more air-con units in the future, pool heaters, electric boilers, they will need to be considered when designing a system. Also would you like the peace of mind that you can store your own energy for when the grid fails. We are aware it is a bigger investment. But it can reduce night consumption costs and give you power when noone else has it.
-
This means you may not currently have an electic car, pool (pump/heater) or heating/cooling of your house. But you might have a plan install in the future, in which case we would need to create a design with this in mind.
-
Once we have agreed on a design and installation date. You pay a deposit and we start the paperwork process for the relevant building licenses. They are usually completed within two weeks . After the install, we complete the legal paperwork.
-
A 6 panel job with easy access usually takes the best part of a day. 10~12 panel jobs 2 days, We usually give you an idea of time schedule once you have a design. We need access to you house, as the inverter needs to be installed on a wall. We usually start by installing the panels and doing the cable run from the roof to the relevant wall where the inverter will be installed. Some inverters are weather proof and can be installed on an exterior shady wall.
-
Our engineer usually turn up around 7 am, they need access to the roof, if they can park as close as possible to the building it makes things easier to load and unloads the materials and tools. The work can be noisy, as required power tools are used such as drilling tubing for cables and mounting system. Our team is very professional, tidy and quick . They work quickly and efficiently and always tidy up, to cause the least disruption as possible.
-
As one engineer will be tidying tools away. The electrical engineer usually testing and commissioning the system. This means as soon as the engineer has is connected you are producing your own energy for your house. Once set up, the engineer can help install the monitoring APP on a device of your choice. Then we will send the invoice for the final payment.
-
You will receive all of the legalisation paperwork to your email and we can then help you set up or change tariff with your energy supplier. If you wish to set up a virtual battery we can recommend and guide you to suppliers that provide that service. *Virtual battery is where any unused energy you produce that goes back to the energy supplier and saved. Which is usually deducted from your bill.
-
We offer a system check up service, which is one annual fee, which includes an annual visit to the site to check for any wear and tear, assess if cleaning is necessary and advice on energy consumption or future proofing.
We review your solar performance from the past year and our service includes a break down of how much you have consumed and saved over the year including any advice on how to maximise your energy potential.
You may need to increase the size of the system if your electrical consumption has gone up that year.
